To help make equipment more affordable, this year South Shore Minor Hockey Association has joined forces with the United Way of Lunenburg County and their “Back in the Game” Program. This program collects quality used sports equipment and then makes it available to families that see the high cost of equipment as a barrier to participating in the sport. Although any family can take advantage of the equipment exchange.
In conjunction with this year’s hockey registration to held on Monday August 21 from 4 pm to 9 pm at the LCLC in Bridgewater, there will also be a used hockey equipment exchange. Simply take what equipment you need and drop off what you don’t. Sport Check employees and other volunteers will help ensure that you choose hockey equipment that best suits your child’s needs. To help you get a fresh start on the season Victor Whynot, from Vic’s Skate Sharpening will be on hand to sanitize your equipment. Prices start at $20
