The United Way of Lunenburg County has partnered with VON Lunenburg County to bring additional resources to help increase the use of their Frozen Favourites meal program. This an important program that will help address some of the nutritional needs of people who are housebound due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
VON meal programs help seniors and persons with disabilities access the nutrition and community support they need. Currently, they can offer the community Frozen Favourites. With over 15 home-style frozen, well-balanced meals, Frozen Favourites helps to alleviate hunger and boost nutrition. This is a convenient, healthy meal option for clients who can’t or are not interested in cooking a full, nutritious meal. Their delivery service allows them to provide both nutrition and a safety check at the seniors’ doorsteps.
